At Wanita Industri Binaan Malaysia (WIBM), we are dedicated to uniting and empowering women in the construction sector. Whether you are a professional, business owner, skilled worker, or aspiring to enter the industry, we provide a platform for networking, opportunities, and professional growth. Together, we aim to break barriers and foster an inclusive construction industry where women thrive.

Since 2015, WIBM has strived to support this select community via various past accomplishments and present efforts. We continue to encourage and welcome future members to join us in this journey.

March, 2014

The idea of a platform or association for women in the Construction Industry was initiated by a group of 10 women involved in the construction industry who called themselves the “Passionate 10+1”.

A courtesy visit was made to the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Works, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin and a working paper proposal was forwarded regarding the issues of women in construction.

The inaugural Konvensyen Usahawanita Binaan (KUBINA), initiated by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Works and chaired by Sr. Sariah Abdul Karib, was organized by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB). One of its key resolutions was to establish an association for women in the construction industry.

CIDB asked the group to form the association, and WIBM was officially registered as a non-profit in Malaysia on January 30, 2015. It is run by elected committee members.
